The HubSpot Nonprofit Pack is a developer app that can be added to an existing HubSpot instance to expand the base data model and make HubSpot more useful for nonprofits. It offers robust fundraising and constituent interaction tools.

The HubSpot NonProfit Pack will help organizations develop trusted, long-term connections with donors by providing donor-centric experiences that meet donors’ evolving expectations. It will help the organization break down barriers between fundraising, marketing, programming, and leadership by giving everyone a single, shared picture of the organization, its supporters, and its data by leveraging all of HubSpot’s features.

Base features.

  • Property on the Company object to track whether a Company is a “Business” or “Household”
    • This is a typical distinction for nonprofits and allows for better tracking of donations
    • A contact, for instance, could be associated with a Household and multiple Businesses and they then make a donation. With this association, you can associate the Household company to the deal to denote that this was a personal donation versus if it was in the name of the business you would associate the Business company
  • Company <> Contact custom association labels including Board Member, Decision Maker, Employee, Executive, Head of Household, Member of Household, Owner, Volunteer
    • These will be used to tell the relationship between contacts and companies at a Household and Business level
    • Can be used in lists, filters, reports, workflows, etc to target specific types of people at specific companies
  • Contact <> Deal custom association labels including Donor, Influencer, and Soft Credit
    • Used to describe the relationship of contacts to deals
    • Can be used in lists, filters, reports, workflows, etc
  • Soft Credits
    • With the custom association label of “Soft Credit”, it allows the organization to give “credit” for a donation, gift, etc to a contact even if they aren’t directly related to the physical giving of money, but in some way played a part
    • This gives organizations the ability to track contacts that may not physically be making a lot of dollar donations personally, but are advocates and major contributors to their organization
  • Custom Deal Pipelines of Donation, In-Kind Gift, Grant and Major Gift
    • Donation Stages (Prospecting > Solicitation > Awaiting Commitment > Verbal Commitment > Pledged > Posted)
    • In-Kind Gift Stages (In-Kind Not Yet Received > In-Kind Received)
    • Grant Stages (Prospecting > LOI Submitted > Application Submitted > Pledged > Awarded)
    • Major Gift Stages (Prospecting > Solicitation > Awaiting Commitment > Verbal Commitment > Pledged > Posted)

PROFESSIONAL SERVICES REQUIRED FEATURES.

  • General Accounting Unit custom object that can be used with deals to attribute Donations/Gifts to specific accounting units
  • Custom rollup properties on Contact and Company to calculate total number of deals, average amount of deals, largest deal amount, latest deal amount for all 4 pipelines
    • This requires professional services support to setup, currently as not possible to create these properties through API
  • Custom rollup properties on Contact are used to calculate the total number of deals, average number of deals, largest deal amount, and most recent deal amount for soft credit contacts.
    • This requires professional services support to setup, currently as not possible to create these properties through API
  • A generic donation form that can be used to collect donations
    • Additional setup is needed to fully configure this and make it so payments can be accepted through HubSpot or with a 3rd party app
  • Reports
    • Contacts with Total Donations over X amount
    • Households with Total Donations over X amount with Main Contact
    • Businesses with Total Donations over X amount
    • Contacts with Total Donations over X amount, but largest gift < X amount
    • Largest Donors – Contacts

    • Contacts/Companies with Total Donations This (Quarter, Year, FY)
