How often are you able to tick all of the boxes on a job application? Regardless of your level of education, experience, or credentials, there will always be room for growth and new learning opportunities when applying for a new role.
Throughout our hiring process, OBO identified a common thread: Applicants with passion, purpose, and drive, who only lacked one or two of the qualifications we sought after. Rather than scrap that potential, we recognized an opportunity to cultivate an onboarding process that could fill in those gaps for new hires. Thus, the OBO Residency Program was born.
What’s the OBO Residency Program?
OBO’s Residency Program is a full-time, paid 3-month program that provides a fast track to a permanent position with our technology and integrated marketing teams. This program is geared to serve recent graduates and career changers that would like to super-charge their careers with an award-winning company.
Our co-founder, Rob Guinn, developed and curated a series of classes and tasks for our incoming residents, wired to guide, teach, and elevate their skills that will ensure their success with OBO. Our program leaders take residents through every aspect of our business to help them fully grasp what it is that makes OBO tick. While learning, residents enjoy all the benefits of a full-time OBO employee, plus hands-on experience and the opportunity to explore any facet of our process that they enjoy most.
Our Residency Program reoccurs on a quarterly basis. We keep our cohorts small (about 4-6 residents per cohort) to provide close guidance and ensure a great team placement at the completion of our 3-month program. Our overarching goals are simple and concrete:
- Get new hires comfortable with OBO’s processes and tasks;
- Allow new hires to hit the ground running on one of our project teams;
- Inspire new hires to analyze and think through complex problems that often arise in the production environment.

- Credentials. The proof is in the pudding. During the Residency Program, residents will learn more about our past successes and practical applications of the skills they’re cultivating. We’ll review case studies, certifications, and other noteworthy credentials that OBO has under its belt.
