Search engine optimization, or SEO, is the process of improving your website’s ranking by naturally integrating keywords and phrases throughout your website, including its meta description, headers, images, and content. Unlike many other aspects of marketing, SEO is a long-term play; you likely won’t see results for at least six weeks. However, by combining a solid strategy with unique content, you will surely see results.
OBO’s approach to SEO emphasizes original content—our ultimate goal is to answer questions that your prospects have about your services and/or industry without being too vague or too in depth. It’s a sweet spot that many organizations overlook—luckily, we have an intuitive understanding of how much content will drive positive results.
Beyond content, we take the time to research and analyze the best possible keywords for your organization. This is done through a series of steps that include the creation of a:
- Keyword Universe (a comprehensive list and ranking of keywords that are relevant to your industry).
- Site Map (a map that lists every page of your website).
- Content Inventory (a repository of the content on your web pages and subpages).
- Keyword Analysis (an analysis of which keywords need to be implemented on specific pages of your website).
- Publishing Schedule (a calendar that includes blog topics and other vital information such as associated keywords).
Our SEO implementation is broken down into two key parts: Part A and Part B. Part A addresses high level SEO touch points (title tag, meta description, headers, image alt text, broken links, URL structure, etc.). These changes can provide a quick boost to your website’s SEO as well as improve upon any items that may be detrimental to SEO.
Part B recommendations include in depth content edits to ensure that your messaging is effective and beneficial to SEO. This may involve major rewrites of content, keyword optimization, and new subpages for industries or services.
Once we have begun implementing Part A edits, we will generate monthly reports detailing the performance and progress of our SEO strategy, starting with the SEO Benchmark Report. These reports include information regarding traffic from organic sources, changes in keyword rankings, keywords that clients gained or lost, bounce rates, behavior flow, top backlinks, and any additional information relevant to progression. These reports will also be used to identify areas that require attention and direct SEO strategy post-implementation. Furthermore, we will return to your Keyword Universe on a monthly basis to determine if there are any new keywords that we should prioritize and if current keywords are gaining prominence.
As our SEO strategy progresses and monthly reporting highlights areas that require attention, we will make additional recommendations to site content and blog optimization to improve SEO.
